Dual Enrollment

Explore CAREERS and get a head start on a CERTIFICATE OR DEGREE through FREE dual enrollment classes at your high school!

Butte College and local school districts are partnering to provide equitable access to college coursework and career technical education and transfer pathways within a supportive environment. Introducing high school students to a variety of college course offerings can help students explore career fields and pathways, achieve college and career readiness, and empower students to successfully transition from high school to post-secondary institutions and/or the workforce.

Most classes are offered on the high school campus during the regular school day and are taught by high school teachers who meet the minimum qualifications to teach at Butte College or a Butte College instructor.
Dual enrollment courses become part of a student's permanent college transcript and can be used at any college that accepts them.

Benefits:

  • Earn high school and college credit at the same time;
  • Explore career fields and pathways prior to graduation;
  • Build confidence in college-level coursework;
  • Get a head start on a certificate or degree;
  • Does not affect Butte Promise Scholarship eligibility;
  • Save money on tuition and textbooks - this program is FREE!
